Longer contact points cost a few dollars and resolve the problem completely. Before you touch a level or return a system, lift the strap and look for skin. If you see only fur, you have found your fault.

A system that drops out at the moment you needed it does more than fail once. It teaches your dog that the cue is sometimes optional, which is a lesson that takes weeks to undo.
