Fit & sizing

Made mainly for long-fur dogs. On a long or thick coat, a standard strap often lets the contact points float on the fur. SPARK K9 solves this two ways: the bungee strap stretches with the neck to keep steady pressure, and 3 lengths of contact points let you reach the skin through any coat.

Fits dogs 30–150 lbs with a neck of at least 12 inches, such as German Shepherds, Huskies, Malinois and Labradors. The bungee can look short out of the box. That is how it works.

Pick the contact-point length that reaches the skin: longest for the thickest coats.
Part the fur where the receiver sits.
Both contact points should touch the skin, with room to slide one finger under the strap.
Move the receiver every 1–2 hours and wear it no more than 8 hours a day.

Setup & quick start

Charge the collar and remote fully before first use.
Pair the collar with the remote as shown in the user manual.
Fit the bungee collar, then start at the lowest level in a quiet place. Use beep or vibration first.
Raise one level at a time until your dog notices (an ear flick or head turn). That is the working level.
Pair each cue with a command and a reward.

Is the SPARK K9 a good shock collar for large dogs?

Yes. It is built for dogs 30–150 lbs, like German Shepherds, Labradors, Pit Bulls and Malinois. Verified buyers use it on German Shepherds and a 90 lb Labrador. Start on beep or vibration and use static only if needed.

Is the SPARK K9 made for long-haired dogs?

Yes, that is what it is built for. The bungee strap keeps steady contact as the dog moves, and the box includes 3 lengths of contact points so they reach the skin through a long or thick coat. For short-coated dogs, the 2026 Edition or ULTRA K9 may fit better.

What size dogs does the SPARK K9 fit?

How far does the remote reach?

Up to 1,100 yards in open terrain. Woods, hills and buildings shorten the range, so test in your area first.

Is the SPARK K9 waterproof?

The collar is IP67 waterproof, so rain, mud and swimming are fine. Rinse and dry it after salt water.

How long does the battery last?

The collar runs up to 15 days and the remote up to 45 days per charge, depending on use. Both charge with the included micro USB cable.

What does the night light do?

It makes the collar visible in low light, so you can keep track of your dog at dusk, at night or in heavy cover.

Can I train with beep or vibration only?

Yes. Beep (1–8) and vibration (1–16) work on their own, and many dogs never need static. Static (1–99) stays optional.

Can one remote train two dogs?

Yes. The remote switches between two collars. Get the X2 SPARK K9, or add an extra SPARK K9 collar later.

SPARK K9 or ULTRA K9: which should I buy?

Choose SPARK K9 for a large dog with a long or thick coat. Choose the ULTRA K9 if you also want a waterproof IP65 remote or a fit from 8 lbs.

Is the SPARK K9 safe for my dog?

Used as directed, yes. Train at the lowest level your dog notices, start with beep and vibration, and use the keypad lock and rubber covers. Wear it no more than 8 hours a day and move it every 1–2 hours.
