Is this a good e-collar for hunting dogs?
Yes. It is the waterproof ULTRA K9 system in real-tree camo, with a 1,100-yard range for field work and recall, beep and vibration for quiet cues, and a night light to keep track of your dog at dawn and dusk.
Is the remote waterproof?
Yes. The remote is IP65 (rain and splashes) and the collars are IP67 (rain, ponds and water retrieves). Rinse and dry after salt or muddy water.
How far does the remote reach in the woods?
Up to 1,100 yards in open terrain. Dense woods, hills and cover shorten the range, so test in the area you hunt before relying on long-distance cues.
What size dogs does it fit?
Dogs 30–150 lbs with a neck of at least 12 inches, such as Labradors, Pointers, Shorthairs and Hounds. Use the bungee strap for thick coats.
Can I use beep or vibration only?
Yes. Beep (1–8) and vibration (1–16) work on their own, which helps when you need quiet cues in the field. Static (1–99) stays optional.
How long does the battery last?
Each collar runs up to 15 days and the remote up to 45 days per charge, depending on use.
What is the difference from the standard ULTRA K9?
It is the same ULTRA K9 system in a real-tree camo finish with a bungee strap and a quick-snap nylon strap. See the standard ULTRA K9.
Can one remote train two dogs?
Yes. This set includes 2 collars, and the 1/2 button on the remote switches between dogs.
Is it safe for my dog?
Used as directed, yes. Train at the lowest level your dog notices, start with beep and vibration, and use the keypad lock. Wear the collar no more than 8 hours a day and move it every 1–2 hours.
