How far does the ULTRA K9 reach in woods versus open field?
Up to 1,100 yards in open terrain. Dense woods, hills and buildings shorten the range, so test your levels in the area you'll train or hunt before relying on long-distance cues.
Is the ULTRA K9 remote waterproof?
Yes. The remote is rated IP65 (rain and splashes) and the collar IP67 (rain, lakes and short swims). Rinse and dry both after salt water.
Which dogs is the ULTRA K9 best for?
Dogs from 8 to 150 lbs, 6 months and older. Verified buyers use it on German Shepherds, Dutch Shepherds, Labradors, Boxers, Cane Corsos, Bullmastiffs and English Mastiffs. It suits off-leash walkers, rural homes without a fence, field and water dogs, and two-dog homes. It is not for aggressive dogs.
What behaviors does the ULTRA K9 help with?
Not coming when called, chasing deer or poultry, excessive barking, ignoring commands, jumping, digging and running off. Start with tone or vibration at the lowest level your dog notices, and reward the right response.
How long until I see results?
Most dogs reach reliable off-leash recall in 4–6 weeks of daily practice, or 8–10 weeks for older or reactive dogs. Barking usually improves in about 14 days, or 4–8 weeks when it comes from anxiety. Many owners report a change in the first week. See our recall guide.
How long should training sessions be?
5–10 minutes, up to 3 times a day, starting somewhere quiet before adding distractions. Most owners wear the collar 2–4 hours a day while training, never more than 8.
How do I find my dog's starting level?
Start at level 1 in a quiet place and raise one level at a time until you see a small sign your dog notices, like an ear flick or head turn. Most dogs work in the low range. Use tone and vibration first.
How long does the battery last?
The receiver lasts up to 15 days and the remote up to 45 days per charge, depending on use. A full charge takes about 2–3 hours over USB.
Can I use the ULTRA K9 with two dogs?
Yes. One remote pairs with up to 2 collars on separate channels. Buy the ULTRA K9 X2 system, or add an extra ULTRA K9 collar later.
Does it work on thick coats like German Shepherds, Huskies or Malinois?
Yes. Use the longer contact points from the box, part the fur where the receiver sits, and check that both points touch the skin. A bungee collar helps keep contact without over-tightening.
ULTRA K9 or SPARK K9: which should I buy?
Choose ULTRA K9 if you train in rain or water or want a waterproof remote and a fit from 8 lbs. Choose SPARK K9 for a large dog (30 lbs and up) with a long or thick coat.
What does the light setting do?
The night light makes the collar visible in low light, so you can keep track of your dog at dusk, at night or in heavy cover.
What's the difference between the standard and the Hunting Limited Edition?
The Hunting Limited Edition uses the same ULTRA K9 system in a camo finish, made for the field.
Is the ULTRA K9 safe for my dog?
Used as directed, yes. Training happens at the lowest level your dog responds to, with tone and vibration modes, a keypad lock against accidental presses, and silicone covers for the skin. Wear it no more than 8 hours a day and move it every 1–2 hours.

So far I am loving them, however I did not enjoy the fact I had to pay an extra fee due to the border as I live in Canada wish I was notified of the is before purchase and if I missed that part I am very sorry but the product itself is great smooth and easy to use my gosh loves it as well does not cause any irritation like the cheaper brand I was using I would totally recommend this product to everyone I talk with so that being said. Would make a statement that there could be border fees when purchasing outside of us thank you for the opportunity to use your product.

The receiver and transmitter are great products. Tough and durable. I would recommend these for any dog, especially a large dog and puppy breed. My 2, 7 month old Cane Corsos play rough and the only place you find any marks are on the collar itself. I will be sticking with this product. Thank You.

Good and simple product. The collar and controller are easy to use with simple controls.
I do wish the collar was a bit more durable and made for long term use, as it sometimes does not allow for a good fit on the dog and can move around a lot. I am getting a third party tactical collar made for a 3.5" ecollar so hopefully that will allow for a better fit.

Great packaging, the system itself is very straightforward. Just fine to it to your pupps needs, in my case 3 month old Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd, gets overstimulated around new people. The sound recall is very effective off leash, and if she veers of course a quick vibration plus a recall is all thats needed. Of course its consistency and on time corection (vibration). Great product 100% satisfied!

I’ve used a number of these remote collars to limited success. This one works. It took my year old silver lab unaltered male that is full of energy and would not listen when he was at full speed and it stops him in his tracks. The results have been amazing.

Great collar , I had use a different collar a few years back training, but this is a game changer for me, easy to use. I was going to purchase the radar fence next , I thought I ordered it by I made a mistake and ordered another collar, I returned it but haven’t received my refund. Once I have I will definitely be ordering the radar fence

I really like having three separate buttons for shock, vibrate, and beeping. My last collar, I had a two step process to switch between them. We walk our lab offleash everyday and we are breaking her from chasing deer. I also like all the adjustment levels of the control.

Do far so good. Wish you could change out collars, have a puppy and big dog will be using with so dont want to cut it. I also didn’t see a olace to purchase an additional collar. Like the ease of use.

Great device. Works exactly what I need and has more features to teach my dog so it's not just a zap to get her attention. The strap I immediately swapped to the replacement (purchased separately) which was way more comfortable for my dog. She likes wearing it this way too. Best idea order this ultra k9 with the replacement strap and prong set and you are good for a very long time. The k9 ultra has more options than most and everything you could want for an e-collar. Plus I like helping veteran owned companies. watch their instruction videos it helps. Use super low settings at first even though it goes to over 100 mine is set to 6 and it's strong enough. Battery life is great and can charge the collar and remote simultaneously with the single wall charger included. This really has everything you need
