How the radar boundary works

The main unit measures the straight-line distance to each collar. You set a radius from 10 to 120 ft, and the boundary becomes a circle around the main unit. At the full 120 ft radius the circle covers about 45,000 sq ft, roughly 1 acre.

  • Place the main unit in the center of the area, in an open spot away from appliances and routers.
  • Test mode checks signal stability so you can find the right distance. Working mode turns the fence on.
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, strong electromagnetic fields and physical barriers can affect the signal.
  • If you move the main unit, the boundary moves with it.

Wireless dog fence for 2 dogs FAQ

Straight answers before you buy.

How does a radar wireless dog fence work?

The main unit measures the distance to the collar by radar. When your dog passes the radius you set (10–120 ft), the collar warns with beep and vibration, with static as an option. There are no wires to bury and no subscription.

Does it really cover 1 acre?

Yes, at the maximum setting. The boundary is a circle with a radius of up to 120 ft from the main unit, about 45,000 sq ft or roughly 1 acre. Because it is a circle measured from the main unit, place the unit in the center. Long or narrow lots will not be fully covered.

Do both dogs share the same boundary?

Yes. Both collars work with one main unit and the same boundary. To add a third dog, get an extra RADAR collar.

Radar or GPS dog fence: which do I need?

Radar suits yards up to about 1 acre, works indoors and outdoors, and does not need a satellite signal. A GPS fence suits larger, open properties. Compare the GPS wireless dog fence or read GPS vs radar.

Do I need to dig or bury a wire?

No. It is a wireless invisible fence. Place the main unit, set the radius and switch to working mode.

Can the main unit stay outside?

No. The collar is IPX7 waterproof, but the main unit is not. Keep it in a dry, sheltered spot. It works indoors too.

Does it shock my dog?

Only if you choose to. The collar has beep and vibration, and static is optional. You can run it in no-static mode.

What happens if my dog leaves the boundary?

The collar warns when your dog passes the boundary. Your dog can walk back in without a correction.

Can I take it camping?

Yes. It is portable and rechargeable. Set the main unit in the center of your site, keep it dry and charged. If the main unit runs out of power, the collar stops working. Camping tips

What size dog is it for?

Medium and large dogs, with a neck of 6–23 in.

How long does the battery last?

Up to 65 hours per charge, depending on use. With a 5V 2A adapter, the main unit takes about 6–7 hours and the collar about 3–4 hours. The collar keeps working while the main unit charges.

What can interfere with the signal?

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, strong electromagnetic fields and physical barriers. Use test mode to check the signal before switching to working mode, and keep the main unit away from routers and appliances.

Does my dog need training?

Yes. Use the training flags to mark the boundary and follow the included training guide before relying on the fence. Setup and training guide

This has been absolutely amazing and helped so much, we had tried everything and spent so much on training classes and different methods and nothing seemed to work. We were extremely hesitant when this was suggested to us by multiple trainers and our vet but it has made such a difference and allowed us to keep our dog who is the just the biggest sweetheart but struggled with issues from previous owners.
