What Is a GPS Wireless Dog Fence?

A GPS wireless dog fence, often called an invisible fence, uses satellite positioning instead of buried wire or a plug-in radio transmitter. You set a center point and a safe radius directly on the collar; when your dog approaches the boundary, the collar warns with a tone, then vibration, then, only if needed, static stimulation. Because there is no wire to trench and no base station to plug in, the INVIROX GPS dog fence sets up in minutes, travels with you, and covers a radius of up to 999 yards for $139.99 with no monthly fees.

The system runs on a U-BLOX GPS chip with 1-2 yard accuracy, needs no app, SIM card, or Wi-Fi, and remembers your settings even after a restart.

No Monthly Fees. Ever.

Most GPS dog fences charge you twice: once for the collar, then every month forever. INVIROX doesn't. There is no subscription, no SIM card, no app account, and no cloud service that can be discontinued. What you pay on this page is the total cost of ownership.

Coverage: What Yard Sizes It Fits

You set the boundary as a circle: stand at the center of your property, set the radius on the collar, anywhere up to 999 yards across 99 adjustable levels, and the safe zone is live. A 100-yard radius covers about 6.5 acres; the maximum 999-yard radius covers hundreds of acres of open land, far beyond any suburban yard.

Two honest notes. First, the boundary is a circle around a center point. It will not trace a custom shape the way a buried-wire fence can. Second, GPS accuracy is 1-2 yards, so the smaller the yard, the larger the share of it that drift takes up. For small yards, our RADAR wireless fence is usually the better fit, and unlike most GPS fence brands, which recommend three quarters of an acre or more, we will tell you that before you buy. Not sure which is right for you? See our guide: GPS vs RADAR wireless fence.

How INVIROX Compares to Halo, SpotOn, PetSafe and Dogtra

If you want premium extras, the expensive systems earn their price: SpotOn ($999) draws custom-shaped boundaries, and Halo ($424-524 plus a required $9.99-19.99/month plan) bundles a training-app ecosystem. Dogtra's E-Fence ($199.99, no subscription) is a solid system from a respected e-collar brand, but it is recommended for properties over three quarters of an acre. PetSafe's Guardian without-subscription fence runs $399-450.

If what you want is a reliable GPS boundary with zero recurring fees, the INVIROX GPS fence does the core job, satellite positioning, tone-first warnings, adjustable static levels, and a waterproof rechargeable collar, for a fraction of their price: $139.99, subscription-free.

The 14-Day Training Plan

INVIROX GPS dog fence 14-day training plan: learn the safe zone, learn the warning cue, then supervised off-leash practice

A GPS fence contains your dog only after your dog learns the boundary. Plan on 14 days: mark the boundary line with the 10 included training flags so your dog gets a visual cue, then days 1-3 on-leash, walking the safe area and praising your dog inside it; days 4-9 introducing the warning tone so your dog learns to turn back on the beep alone; days 10-14 supervised off-leash time, switching to vibration-only mode once your dog reliably respects the line. Never leave the collar on more than 12 hours a day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the INVIROX GPS dog fence require a subscription or monthly fee?

No. There are no monthly fees, no SIM card, no app, and no cloud account, ever. You pay $139.99 once, set the boundary on the collar itself, and it keeps working with nothing else attached. By comparison, a Halo Collar requires a $9.99 to $19.99 per month plan on top of its hardware price, which adds roughly $360 to $720 over three years.

How large an area can the GPS fence cover?

You set a circular boundary with a radius of up to 999 yards from a center point. A 100-yard radius already covers about 6.5 acres, and the maximum setting covers hundreds of acres of open land. The radius adjusts across 99 levels, so you can size the safe zone to your property. Note that the boundary is a circle; it does not trace custom shapes the way a buried-wire fence can.

Will it work in a small yard?

GPS positioning is accurate to about 1 to 2 yards, and that is true of every GPS fence at any price. The smaller the safe zone, the larger the share of it that drift occupies, so for small yards we usually recommend our RADAR wireless fence instead, which is built for close-range boundaries. We would rather point you to the right product than let a bad fit become a return.

What happens when my dog reaches the boundary?

The collar escalates gradually: a first warning cycle of six levels of tone, vibration, and static stimulation as your dog crosses the set radius, then a second cycle if they keep going. After that, the collar keeps sounding a tone until your dog returns to the safe area. You choose the mode, tone plus vibration only or with static, and set the correction level individually for your dog.

Is the collar waterproof?

Yes. The collar is IPX7-rated, which covers rain, snow, splashing, wet grass, and brief submersion. It is built for everyday outdoor life in all weather, and charging is by magnetic contact rather than an open port.

How long does the battery last?

A full charge powers the collar for up to 24 hours of continuous use, and charging is via the included USB magnetic charging cable. Because we recommend that dogs wear the collar no more than 12 hours a day, in practice you simply charge it overnight and it is ready every morning.

How long does training take?

Plan for about two weeks. The included 14-day plan starts on-leash, walking the safe area and praising your dog inside it, then introduces the warning tone so your dog learns to turn back on the beep alone, and finishes with supervised off-leash time. Many owners report their dogs respond to tone and vibration alone within the first days of consistent training.

Does GPS drift affect the boundary?

GPS accuracy is 1 to 2 yards in open sky, with some reduction under dense tree cover. That is satellite physics, and it applies to every GPS fence on the market, including systems costing $999. In practice, set your boundary a few yards inside any road or hazard so occasional drift never puts your dog at risk.

Do I need an app, Wi-Fi, or a SIM card?

No. Everything, from the center point and radius to the mode and correction level, is set directly on the collar. There is no app to pair, no SIM card, no Wi-Fi, and no company server involved. That also means your fence can never be disabled by a discontinued app or a shut-down cloud service.

Can I use it for more than one dog?

Yes. Each dog wears their own collar, set to the same center point and radius. For multi-dog households, also see our RADAR wireless fence 2-dog and 3-dog bundles, which are purpose-built for that.

What size dogs does it fit?

The TPU strap adjusts from 7 to 22.5 inches of neck circumference, fitting small through large breeds. Four contact points are included, two short for short-haired dogs and two long for thick or long coats, so the collar stays effective regardless of coat type.

What are the warranty and return policy?

Every INVIROX GPS fence is covered by a 2-year warranty and a 30-day money-back guarantee, with free US returns within 30 days of delivery. If anything is wrong with your fence, contact Support@invirox.com and we will make it right.
